DAPHNE AND DAPHNE'S FEATHERS

Inspired by a 19th century French motif, this design has been long in the making, with scale being key to the sense of whimsy in this uplifting print. The original palette is seen in its romantic colours of old rose and violet, whilst more vibrant and modern colour combinations are also introduced. In hand screen printing this design on a soft, Irish linen backcloth, Flora is upholding the traditional artistry of the original fragment in her archive.

Taking its cue the same fragment, Daphne's Feathers, with its smaller scale print, is the background to its more intricate big sister. However, this subtle design is as much a star of the show when used on both a small or larger scale. Hand screen printed, the sense of movement and artistry to this undulating design is ever present in an array of sophisticated and versatile colour combinations.
